nuitrack.apk try

Hello, I tested the D435’s human body tracking using nuitrack.apk and noticed that its depth data range is around 3 meters. But to capture full-body joint tracking, I have to stand over 3 meters away from the D435 for my whole body to show in the preview. Has anyone encountered this issue, and are there any solutions?

Hello @dachen,
you could try a portrait mode (rotate sensor by 90 degrees), it significantly reduce distance required for the whole body to be visible.
But anyway - 3+ meters requirement is kind of confusing as most sensors vertical FOV (field of view) allows to be fully visible in range between 1.5 - 3 meters.
We’ll recheck D435 specifically as it looks like there is some issue with an effective vFOV (could be unnecessarily narrowed, due to some configuration options, actually you could also compare what you see in a preview with a Realsense Viewer).

P.S. any screenshot to confirm a specific behavior on our side would be really helpful

Hello!
Can changing the 640x480 configuration information improve this issue?(I think so)

Do you mean the physical rotation?

If the D435 is rotated, body tracking will not work. It should be that the depth information does not work, which leads to the failure of body tracking.

Hi @dachen,

Do you mean the physical rotation?

Sure, it’s supported in Nuitrack for years, but required to be switched on through a config.
Please refer to this part from a KB.

Actually the easiest option to try is on desktop platforms Linux / Windows x64, as the latest Nuitrack app (0.38.2) allows to change it right from UI when testing, please check this video for reference.
Unfortunately, Android is slightly lagging behind regarding this feature.
