Obtaining joint orientations

I haven’t yet begun using Nuitrack so please excuse the simple question. However, can you confirm that the ‘orient’ class is the 3D orientation of a given segment. If so, is the output in quaternions or as a rotation matrix (or some other format)? Following on from this, do you have a description/diagram of the local coordinate system definitions for each segment?
