HW requirements and real-time capabilities

Hello,

We are developing a kinematic body analysis for medical applications that needs to run in a small computer (like intell NUC or jetson Orin) using Nuitrack SW.
Since we are planning to merge the information of 2 cameras, we are planning to use an Orbbec ToF based camera. In this context:

  • Is there HW requirement/recomendation you would have regarding the computer?
  • Will the skeleton estimations be real-time (at 30 fps)?
  • Between the Femto Bolt and the Femto Mega, do you have any romendation?

Best,

Hello @david_alvarez
Sorry for the wait.

  • Is there HW requirement/recomendation you would have regarding the computer?

It depends on which skeleton you will be using:

  • Classic skeleton tracking does not require very powerful hardware—it runs at 30 fps everywhere (pi4, jetson, nuc, etc.).
  • AI skeleton tracking requires 3-4 processor cores to run at 30 fps. Check out our video in this case study https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9b5JzHelH1o
  • Will the skeleton estimations be real-time (at 30 fps)?

Yes, we provide real-time 30fps performance. If you encounter any performance issues, please let us know.

  • Between the Femto Bolt and the Femto Mega, do you have any romendation?

You can see the sensors we recommend on this page. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
