Hello. I’m looking to upgrade my camera from Kinect v2 to something better. I’m thinking about the Orbbec Femto Mega because it have good specs. It’s okay? Would you suggest me something else? What is the best solution for your application.
My computer specs are: Windows 11 Pro, Intel i913900K, Nvidia RTX 5090

Yes, Orbbec Femto Mega is fully supported by Nuitrack.
We also recommend Orbbec Femto Bolt (which has the same cameras) and Orbbec Astra 2 (uses structured light technology instead of tof).
What is the best between Femto and Astra2?
Both historically and at the moment structured light sensors are better supported by Nuitrack.
They generally (i.e. not only in Nuitrack) behave more stable than ToF for any indoor scenarios without sunlight exposure, their only particular disadvantage relative to ToF is that they substantially affect each other when used in multi-sensor environment.
If you plan to use a single sensor indoor - Astra 2 is really the best on the market (and it is 100% works better in Nuitrack as we studied it vs Femto Bolt in different scenarios).
P.S. Actually your current Kinect 2 is also a good baseline, but there are some known ToF-specific depth artifacts, which Nuitrack isn’t adapted to well enough yet.
