What License Is Required When Delivering a Nuitrack-Based Project to a Client?

Hello

Our company is currently evaluating Nuitrack for use in interactive media installations, and we are considering purchasing licenses for upcoming projects.

Before making a purchase decision, I would like to clarify the licensing requirements for a typical deployment scenario.

We are developing an application using Nuitrack with either TouchDesigner or Unreal Engine 5.3. After development is completed, the project will be packaged as a standalone .exe application and delivered to a client together with a depth camera.

In this scenario:

  • The client will receive a different physical depth camera of the same model.
  • The application will be delivered as a packaged .exe file.

Could you please clarify the following?

  1. What type of Nuitrack license is required for this deployment scenario?
  2. Can a Perpetual License be purchased for the client’s camera and used for long-term deployment?
  3. How many licenses would be required in total for development and client deployment?

We are currently considering Nuitrack for commercial projects within our company, so understanding the licensing structure is important for our purchasing and deployment planning.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi @hyejin

  1. Our wrappers in TD or UE are subscription-based only. Check this page Real-Time Interactive Art
They require periodic internet access to function. A subscription can be activated on different sensors, but only the most recently activated sensor will be operational - and only one instance can run at a time.
  2. If you’re using our plugin/wrapper - no
  3. A separate license is required for each sensor.

Could you please specify which sensors you plan to use?

Hello Irakli,

Thank you for your response.

Our company is currently using the Orbbec Femto Bolt depth camera.

We have already purchased an AI Subscription under our company account, and I have successfully connected Nuitrack to Unreal Engine 5.3

However, I am having an issue with TouchDesigner. The Nuitrack CHOP does not seem to be working properly. Could you please advise on any possible causes or solutions?

At the moment, I have placed both TOP.dll and CHOP.dll in the following directory:

\Documents\Derivative\Plugins\NuitrackPlugin

Is there anything else that needs to be installed or configured for the Nuitrack CHOP to function correctly in TouchDesigner?

Thank you for your assistance.

Oops, sorry about that!

After checking again in TouchDesigner, I realized that the issue was caused by the distance between the camera and the person being too close. Once I moved farther away from the camera, the tracking started working correctly.

Thank you for your time, and sorry for the confusion!
